Art Workshop: "Plants, as They Prepare for Winter"

All proceeds from this event are being kindly donated by Philippa Dow to the Pimlott Foundation.

This day is all about looking at plants as they prepare for winter. We will look how the colours change as they decay and examine the structures of bare stems and branches.

We will use quills and ink made from oak galls and we will draw with pens made from reeds and other items from nature. But please feel free to bring any paints or other materials which you might own.

You will need to bring a large pad of cartridge paper. Daler-Rowney or anything similar preferably A2 or larger.

Refreshments will be provided but please bring your own lunch. There will be a maximum of 15 participants.

Open Gardens Collection Exhibition

Old House Road, Great Horkesley, CO6 4EQ
Sunday 6th June, 11am - 4.30pm

£5 entry at door on the day

A beautiful garden with over 500 trees, a rose garden, terrace beds, a cottage garden circling a fishpond, a herbaceous border alongside a wall and lawn, hedges and modest topiary, espalier limes, some very beautiful ancient trees. There are a few sculptures to enliven your walk as well as a couple of peacocks.. who might be making a lot of noise! There will be a plant sale and refreshments available.

Philippa Dow will be exhibiting some of her watercolour pieces, which will be available for purchase.

 

Dogs are very welcome on a lead. There is car parking on site and parts of the garden are wheelchair accessible.
